Hello to all our followers! The busy times continue at Canberra Railway Museum. Over the recent long weekend, we hosted The Picnic Train as they rewatered locomotive R766 in between their shuttles to Bungendore. And the Picnic Train will be back again over the Easter weekend!

Meanwhile, our volunteers are all hands to the pump to get our operational carriages ready for Picnic Train use. We have been painting ceilings, many windows and a few doors have been repaired and freshened up with paint, repairs to upholstery and to the roof, all followed by a good clean to make the compartments ready for the next excited passengers.

We love bringing these old carriages back to good condition, and if you would like to join in, new volunteers are always welcome. Drop down to the museum yard on a Wednesday, Thursday or Saturday if you’re interested!
